The Bilfinger Berger Services Scholarship
Application Deadline Extended to: 18 th May 2007 (Previous applicants need not apply) Outline This Scholarship was established to support students undertaking their final undergraduate year final year thesis in the disciplines of Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW. Eligibility Applicants must be full-time students who are due to commence the last year of their undergraduate program and are anticipating working in their chosen profession on graduation. The scholarship is open to students undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering at the Kensington Campus of UNSW, in the disciplines of Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Students undertaking a combined degree are eligible to apply. Each applicant will be assessed on the basis of academic merit, demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, proven initiative and extra-curricular leadership activities. The Scholarship recipient must maintain enrolment in a normal full-time load. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. The Scholarship recipient should not normally hold any other Scholarship or Award (except for Youth Allowance/Austudy) except with the permission of the UNSW Selection Committee. Scholarship recipients are strongly encouraged to undertake 12 weeks of Industrial Training with Bilfinger Berger Services, from December 2007 to the end of February 2008. The industrial experience will be undertaken immediately prior to the Scholarship year. Payment for the industrial experience will be provided by Bilfinger Berger Services and will be at the appropriate market rate. Applications which are late, incomplete or unsigned will not be accepted.
