How to Write a Good Paper
Adjunct Professor John Reizes
Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm, Friday 4th September 2009
Place: Room G3, Elect Eng Building (G17)

It should be remembered that a paper is a sales document for the work and therefore has to be written so as to entice the reader to want to buy, that is read it! A good paper should therefore consist of a title which grabs the attention of the reader, an abstract that wets the appetite for more, an introduction that puts the work in perspective, a clear exposition of how the work was done and a conclusion which “screams” look at what I have done; all presented in a passive voice and a modest scientific understated manner. This can only be achieved if the researcher has confidence in the work.
