2006 Dean’s Award For Excellence

Congratulations to the School’s technical officers for winning the 2006 Dean’s award for excellence. The award goes to Peter Chen, Laboratory Manager and his team of hard working technical officers who keep the teaching laboratories in excellent working order. The technical officers are Roy Zeng, Gamini Liyadipitiya, Liu Zhenyu and Syed Rahman.

The UNSW Faculty of Engineering Staff Excellence Awards were established in 2004 to reward and encourage exceptional and outstanding service or work performance by administrative, technical, teaching and research staff in the UNSW Faculty of Engineering.

The technical staff award recognizes the significant contribution to School projects resulting in the development of new laboratory facilities, development of new equipment for teaching and research and development of infrastructure for the School.

Peter Chen retired earlier this month after many years loyal service to the School. He was not at the awards presentation today having traveled to the UK to spend some time with his family.
