BRAEMAC SPONSORSHIP
Altera, in conjuncture with Braemac, are sponsoring a 4th year thesis in 2006 for a student in the School of EE&T. The selected student will work on a project which will incorporate an Altera FPGA device as well as utilise the Altera NIOS II (softcore processor) IP. Altera Corporation (NASDAQ:ALTR) is the world's pioneer in system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solutions. Combining programmable logic technology with software tools, intellectual property, and technical services. Altera supports education on a worldwide basis. As such, Altera have set up a university program aimed to help professors, instructors, and students successfully use Altera's programmable logic devices (FPGAs andCPLDs) and to provide the best educational experience possible. Altera's Nios(r) II family of soft-core embedded processors is optimized for programmable logic and system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) integration. The School will conduct the selection process for a student with high academic grades with high motivations and enthusiasm for getting involved in state of the art design.
